NATURA. 2000 DE PASARI IMPUSCATE.

In cursul unei actiuni de monitorizare derulata sambata 20 feb 2010 de pe contracanalul mal drept al lacului au fost adunate 830 de tuburi de cartuse trase, inclusiv 4 cartuse de vanatoare netrase. Aceste, dar si alte gunoaie, au umplut bena masinii.

Pe lac au fost identificate 168 de sepecii de pasari. Legal, pot fi impuscate doar 3 specii de pasari, din familia ratelor. In cursul actiunii de sambata am descoperit resturile a doua pasari de prada impuscate ilegal.

Fondul de vanatoare se afla la doar cativa metri de limita ariei de protectie speciala avifaunistica, de importanta comunitara. Pasarile protejate la nivel european, nu sunt dotate din pacate cu GPS, si au tendinta sa depaseasca ocazional linia in interiorul careia sunt protejate, situatie in care sunt intampinate de zeci de mii de alice.

Directiva UE de protejare a păsărilor a salvat mai multe specii pe cale de dispariţie

Uniunea Europeană (UE) va sărbători joi împlinirea a 30 de ani de la adoptarea primei legi de protecţie a naturii - Directiva Păsări - care a permis salvarea de la dispariţie a mai multor specii, a anunţat astăzi Comisia Europeană (CE).

Legislaţia este una dintre cele mai importante realizări ale politicii europene de mediu şi reprezintă un pilon central în strategia europeană privind oprirea pierderii biodiversităţii, prin apariţia a 5.000 de arii cu protecţie specială care acoperă peste 10% din masa terestră a UE, ce fac parte din reţeaua ecologică Natura 2000.

Au fost salvate, astfel, diverse specii ameninţate, printre care se numără lopătarul, codalbul, vulturul imperiat spaniol, petrelul de Madeira, pelicanul creţ şi cormoranul pitic.

Totuşi, CE avertizează că bogata diversitate a UE - de peste 500 de specii de păsări sălbatice - este supusă în continuare unor presiuni importante, studii recente arătând că 43% din speciile de păsări din Europa sunt ameninţate sau se află în grav declin.

Commission launches an official guide to the sustainable hunting of wild birds

On Monday the European Commission will officially launch a guide on the hunting of wild birds to ensure the activity is carried out in accordance with EU nature legislation. It aims to clarify the hunting requirements of the EU's oldest nature law, the Wild Birds Directive, which celebrates its 30th anniversary on the 2nd of April 2009. This is one of the key tools in helping achieve the EU's objective of halting biodiversity loss. The guide on sustainable hunting be launched at an official ceremony in Paris by the French Environment Minister Jean-Louis Borloo and the Director General of the Commission's Directorate General for Environment, Karl Falkenberg.

Celebrating 30 years of the EU Birds Directive

On 2 and 3 April in Trier the Academy of European Law (ERA), with the support of BirdLife International and the Federation of Associations for Hunting and Conservation of the EU (FACE), will organise a conference on the occasion of the 30th Anniversary of the EU Birds Directive.

The Council Directive (79/409/CEE) on the conservation of wild birds, unanimously adopted by Member States on 2 April 1979, is without any doubts the most innovative legal instrument for the protection of all wild bird species naturally occurring in the Union. Together with the EU Habitats Directive (92/43/CEE), they form the core of nature and biodiversity policies in Europe.

The EU Birds Directive, with its comprehensive protection scheme for wild birds, has proven to be an essential piece of EU environmental legislation, placing great emphasis on the protection of habitats for endangered and migratory species, especially through the establishment of a coherent network of Special Protection Areas (SPAs). The Directive also recognises the legitimacy of hunting and contains provisions to manage birds’ hunting in a sustainable way.
